‘Killing Jews Is Worship’ Ad On San Francisco Muni Bus System

Controversial ‘Killing Jews Is Worship’ ad on San Francisco muni bus system is creating all sorts of talk from all kinds of different directions. The ads are quotes from various terrorist groups, but the creators of the ad campaign insist that their ads is meant to deliver an enlightening message. As it seems the controversial campaign tactic is growing more and more into a case of curing the toothache with a hammer!

According to a report from San Francisco KPIX 5, the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), has started a very controversial ad campaign using hate messages from various terrorist groups. AFDI’s description on their website reads; “our objective is to go on the offensive when legal, academic, legislative, cultural, sociological, and political actions are taken to dismantle our basic freedoms and values.”

One of the ads reads “Killing Jews is worship that draws us closer to Allah.” The ad quotes ‘Hamas MTV’ as the source. Then the rest of the ad reads; “that’s his Jihad, what is yours?” AFDI’s Jihad Awareness Campaign is using the San Francisco muni bus system to get its message across. Apparently the purpose behind the whole campaign is to shed light on a potentially false belief about the meaning of the word “Jihad.” The point ADI is trying to get across is that the word “Jihad” has no association with “violence”, rather the word “Jihad” means “struggle” which is a principle Islamic belief.

The ad campaign has caused much anger among many organizations including San Francisco city leaders. According to KPIX 5, District Attorney George Gascon has voiced his strong opposition to ADFI’s ads saying “San Francisco won’t tolerate Islamophobic bigotry. The only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good people to look the other way and do nothing.”

In defense of the ad campaign, Pamela Geller one of the two founders of the American Freedom Defense Initiative said to KPIX 5 that “the purpose of our campaign is to show the reality of Jihad, the root causes of terrorism. Using the exact quotes and text that they use.” Geller says the controversial ads placed on San Francisco muni bus fleet were AFDI’s response to an earlier bus ad campaign sponsored by the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
